The nation of Colombia has recently established a goal of becoming a world’s leader in bioengineering, environmental science and engineering, and nanotechnology.  To help them accomplish this objective they have executed a memorandum of understanding with Purdue University.

Discovery Park is playing a major role in this new partnership, particularly through our Nanotechnology and Entrepreneurship Centers.  Key faculty from both centers have made visits to Colombia and are offering their expertise as new facilities and programs are being planned.  Within the next 3-5 years approximately 150 Colombian graduate students will train at Purdue.  A goal of ultimately developing joint research programs has been established.
